Requesting reviews

Run honest, FTC-compliant Google review request campaigns by email and QR code in ReputeMap, with one-click opt-out built in.

Requesting reviews

More Google reviews start with the ask. ReputeMap lets you run review request campaigns two ways: email (to a list you upload) and QR codes (for in-person and printed touchpoints). Both point customers straight to the client’s Google review link, and both are built to stay honest and compliant.

Before you start, make sure the location is connected. See Connecting Google if you haven’t linked a Google Business Profile yet.

Honest mode (read this first)

ReputeMap only supports honest asks. That means:

  • Everyone gets asked. There is no review-gating, no “are you happy?” pre-screen, and no way to route unhappy customers away from the public review link.
  • No filtering. You cannot suppress or hide a customer based on predicted sentiment.
  • Every email includes one-click opt-out. Recipients who opt out are permanently excluded from future campaigns for that client.

This keeps your campaigns aligned with FTC guidance on reviews. It is the only mode available by design.

Send an email campaign

  1. Sign in at app.reputemap.com/login and open Campaigns.
  2. Choose the client and location you’re requesting reviews for.
  3. Upload your recipient list (CSV with name and email) or paste addresses.
  4. Pick or edit the email template. Use merge fields like the customer’s first name and the business name to personalize the ask.
  5. Preview the message, including the review link and the opt-out footer (added automatically).
  6. Send now or schedule for later.

Recipients click through to the client’s Google review page. ReputeMap tracks sends, opens, and clicks so you can see which campaigns drive activity.

Note: ReputeMap sends review requests by email only. We do not send SMS. For in-person or printed scenarios, use QR codes below.

Generate a QR code

QR codes are perfect for receipts, table tents, packaging, counter signage, and follow-up cards.

  1. In Campaigns, open the QR code tab for the chosen location.
  2. ReputeMap generates a QR that resolves to the client’s Google review link.
  3. Download the QR as a PNG or SVG and drop it into print materials, or add your client’s branding around it.
  4. Anyone who scans it lands directly on the Google review form.

QR scans are honest by definition: every person who scans goes to the same public review link, no gating in between.

Handling opt-outs

  • Every email campaign footer carries a one-click unsubscribe link.
  • Opt-outs are stored per client and honored automatically, so a customer who unsubscribes from one location’s requests won’t be re-emailed.
  • You don’t need to manage suppression lists manually; ReputeMap excludes opted-out addresses from every future send.

After the request

New reviews flow into your unified review inbox, where you can draft AI replies and publish them to Google in one click. Negative reviews (1-3 stars) also trigger alerts so nothing slips through.

Tips for better response rates

  • Ask promptly while the experience is fresh.
  • Keep it short. One clear line and one obvious link or QR.
  • Personalize with the customer’s name and the business name.
  • Combine channels. Email after the visit, QR on the receipt.
